Condensates of flesh and soul

My body, my head, my stomach
My inner affairs

All that
I seek and find within the stones
Strike it free in them
Expressively
If someone needs a drawer
Without the dust of the stones I feel sick
My studio
My world
Sandstone is still good for anger
Marble, however,
I only turn to with a sense of exaltation
The stone determines the consciousness

Welge has been working (expressionistic figurative) for more than 30 years with marble, sandstone and all kinds of beautiful stones he is interested in. Also there are metal works (bronze, iron) and works in wood. 1975-78 study (Duisburg, Düsseldorf), several trips to USA, South America, Easter Island. 1980-1995 Frankfurt/Main, 1995-1998 Fischerhude, 1999/2000 Wiesbaden, living and working now in a small town not far from Frankfurt/Main. Since 1981 more than 90 exhibitions in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy. Nearly 10 years he worked on PROJEKT 14. Works in public: Johanniskirche, Frankfurt/M - Tagesklinik, Offenbach - Hauptstaatsarchiv, Wiesbaden - Museum hanga roa, rapa nui (Easter Island) - Schloß Bad Homburg - Niemöller-Schule, Wiesbaden - Hess.
